Notes from the booklet:
Nightmare of the Witch - '95 Demo Version"
This song is part of an 8 song demo recorded at Electric Plant Studios in the late summer of 1995. Soon after it was finished, Denis Gulbey of Sentinel Steel Music heard this demo and outright signed the band to record a more polished effort which resulted in the Gothic Knights debut CD. This demo, which is considered a "treasure" by the band represents some of the most heartfelt and riveting work the band has ever performed in the studio. This song represents the power of this lineup and is a true testament to a great era in their history. - John Tsantakis '98
Recorded at T.T.'s Sound and Zax Trax - Frederick, MD USA
Mixed and mastered at T.T.'s Sound
Man On The Edge
Originally slated to appear on the "Up The Irons" Dwell Records tribute to Iron Maiden, "Man On The Edge" winds up here as a result of some less-than-righteous treatment. An homage to the continued quality output of the masters. Keep up the great work Blaze!
The Chosen One
Recorded at: Oblivion Studios Nov. '97
The S.A. Adams Reborn track included here is a demo version of one of the tracks set to appear on his fourth studio solo album due on in late 1999.
"The Room" was written in '92 when we were still a four piece band. It was recorded for a demo tape, and became a staple in our live set as a frequent opener. I wrote the lyrics about a guy trapped in a dark room with no windows or doors, as an analogy to personal freedom and overcoming mental barriers. It was a time when I was just beginning to learn how to sing, and I had a sore throat and a fat infected lip the day that I did the vocal track. So there were some problems. I had gotten jumped several nights before by some gangster types and was proud (not to mention pissed) to go to the hospital and get stiches [sic]. Thus the lip infection. Ironically, the night before I recorded this new version of "The Room", (just a couple months ago) I got into another fight on the street when these guys tried to steal my bike. My jaw and left brow were a little puffed out after several hits on the side of the head. It hurt when I opened my mouth past a certain point, so once again there were vocal difficulties. Otherwise, I think the song sounds great though, so enjoy!! - M. Scalzi June '98
Wino is back! - Nuff Said
